Criminal Gang violence has escalated since the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moises in 2021.

“The International Crisis Group cited that “Haitians government has called on the  United Nations and foreign partners to deploy a public security force to push the criminal gangs back.”

“Haiti has been experiencing a surge of violence since the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moises in 2021. However, the Haitian government has been unable to meet the bare needs of the people, resolve longstanding human rights problems, and address humanitarian crisis due to political instability and Gang violence.”
