South Africa seeks ICC war crimes on Israel

Aljazeera: “Could a warning by the ICC deter war crimes in the Israel-Gaza conflict?
A signal that ICC is monitoring would let victims know they are not abandoned amidst the Israel-Gaza conflict, experts say.”

“Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan of the International Criminal Court (ICC) must send a message that he is monitoring developments and must warn against carrying out potential war crimes as the heavy bombardment of Gaza continues, human rights groups and legal experts say.”

“Khan broke his silence last week on the Israel-Gaza war, which began with an October 7 attack by the armed wing of the Palestinian group Hamas on Israel, in an interview with Reuters, saying the ICC has jurisdiction over possible war crimes carried out in the occupied Palestinian territory and Israel.”
