El Eleconomista: “National Guard tasks focused on migrants. Figures from Inegi show that in 2022, security tasks by the National Guard (GN) focused on immigration containment, as it experienced a 432.5% increase in “rescues” of people in a situation of mobility; On the other hand, arrests for possible crimes decreased almost 60 percent.”
“According to the National Census of Federal Public Security (CNSPF) 2023 of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), throughout 2022, the GN reported on the rescue of 177,166 people in the context of mobility, this figure represents an increase of 462.5% of cases, compared to 2021, when 31,494 migrants were rescued.”
